Movies: Glass (15) & 13 Hours (DVD – 15)

Glass (15) – what’s it about? A kind of continuation on from Unbreakable & Split, where the three main protagonists are institutionalised and questioned about their abilities.

So if you liked the weirdness of Split and the characters of Unbreakable then this one will be right up your street. Though I don’t believe either of those films were set up for a joint sequel as such when you watch them, this though expands the universe a little and sets it up for probably more movies. It was a good watch, it kept me entertained and intrigued, though it isn’t an action movie or fast paced, it’s all to do with the characters and their stories. If you want to watch something that’s a little weird, is about comic heroes but remains more believable than all the action of the Marvel/DC movies then go check this one out.

13 Hours (DVD – 15) – what’s it about? Based on a true story of the CIA being in Libya during the civil unrest in 2011/12.

I was recommended this by a friend and thought I’d pick it up as I found it in the local second-hand store, and well I haven’t seen a film this good in bloody ages! Its fast paced and hits the ground running straight from the get go, don’t get me wrong I’m not really into war films but this isn’t that at all even though about military etc. Also this is based on a true story, and god you know by now how much I hate those, but this one even though it has its sad points isn’t all depressing or uneventful. It’s full on edge of your seat for the entire film, I was glued to the screen and couldn’t take my eyes off it, so if you like a good story but also action movies then this one is 100% worth looking up, because it’s fantastic!
